Teen Parenting Group

Program Description:
Our Teen Parenting Support program helps young parents by offering consistent support in a variety of ways. Our mentors work closely with closely with teens and their teachers, case-workers, parents, etc., to establish a network that can support them in moving forward and becoming independent, contributing members of their community. The model we use is based on a combination of existing, research-based models and our strong belief in the power of relational therapy through one-on-one mentoring and group support. Our overall goal is to help young parents develop healthy parenting techniques and basic life skills for navigating the potentially overwhelming role of raising a child as a teen.

Weekly Group:
Our group meets every week to ensure high levels of support and guidance. Group activities vary and include; parenting classes taught by professionals, organized focus conversations on various topics, facilitated discussions by pediatricians, substance abuse counselors, psychologists, art/cooking projects, tutoring, help with DHHS paperwork/filing and anything positive that aligns with our mission to help teen mothers to move forward and become independent while supporting their children with love and empathy.
