Thank you very much for taking the time to read about Seeds of Independence and considering volunteering. Seeds of Independence, Inc. is a 501c3 public charity, EIN #26-3319544.
The most significant impacts on our lives are the ones that we have made in our relationships with others and the connections that come from them.
If you consider the most influential relationships in your life, you might discover they were some of the briefest, and came from the most surprising places. In all of our programs we need mentors who are open to connecting with youth and building a relationship that may last for the length of a specific program or carry on longer.
Each one of us has the ability, and within Seeds of Independence the opportunity, to change a youths life in a positive direction. All it takes is a consideration of the level of time you are capable of committing and filling out a mentor application.
Your commitment could be as simple as giving a ride to a class for a GED student or taking a full week on a work trip to the Dominican Republic, or one night a week in Jumpstart.
You will find that it is one of the most rewarding things that you do. Your understanding of the issues youth face today and the complex issues they have to deal with will change your perspective on the future of our communities, and the commitment we all must make.
If you have any interest in volunteering or mentoring, we would encourage you to fill out the Mentor Application . We can tailor the amount of your commitment to match a multiple of needs for our youth.
